Fun Friday Nights

Once upon a time there was a beautiful girl who just so happened to be sitting by herself. Alone. On a Friday night, watching Mirror Mirror.

Yes, this amazing twenty-one year old girl was sitting pathetically by herself eating an excessive amount of ice cream while watching a movie made specifically for children.

Lame right?

Well if you haven't guessed it, I'm that girl. The pathetic one. Sitting on her couch watching a movie and eating ice cream.

I didn't feel that bad about myself vegging out. I had worked hard all week, so I felt completely justified in laying back, relaxing.

That is until the doorbell rang.

I went and opened the door and the cutest little girls were standing on my porch.

I opened the door curious as to what they could possibly want from me.

They looked around me searching for something.

Looking up at me with puppy eyes they asked if my children could PLEASE come out and play with them.

I chuckled to myself seeing as how I'm completely single and have no kids.

I bared the bad news.

I'm sorry girls, but I don't have any kids.

They couldn't believe it! The smaller one looked deep into my eyes and proclaimed how could I not have ANY kids? Don't you know that Heavenly Father has told us to "Multiply and replenish the earth." Why haven't you done that?

I was shocked.

I told them that they're right, because they are.

We should be having children, but at the right time, when we're married.

They looked at me, blushed and asked if I was married.

I told them the truth.

Their reaction took me by surprise.

They got excited!!!

"You're not married?! Oh my goodness No way!!!!"

Honestly, the next part blew me away.

(Read it without taking a breath)

"I don't know why you're not married. You're beautiful and pretty. Your hair is long and you're really, really nice. You will meet your prince charming soon and when he sees you he will sweep you off your feet and kiss you and he'll take you to the temple the next day and you'll get married and then after that you'll have lots and lots of babies and then we'll play with your babies because we love them just like we love you!"

Shocked.

Little Katrina and Lacey blew my mind. MIND BLOWN.

Like I said, I've almost NEVER felt more pathetic.

But something good did come of of that slightly awkward situation.

Those girls changed my perspective on life.

Yeah my life may not be going according to the plan I dreamed about as a kid, but it is a plan meant specifically for me. One that is meant to make me stretch and become more than I ever imagined becoming.

And I have a hunch I'll love the outcome even more than the one I imagined for myself.
